Elder Wagner, Sgt. Kargbo, President Harper and Elder Shill

Hey guys,

Been doing more computer set up in Africa lately, I hope you all got to see the photos that President or Sister Harper posted of us while they were here in the Kailahun District. They managed to come out here on Friday the 11th, which was really awesome because that was my birthday. Also, they came with 3 bags full of stuff for me from home, and they came with the Kunz's; who brought lunch for the whole gang at our apartment, which made it an even more awesome birthday party. It was kind of the joke that I was so important that President and Sister Harper literally came all the way out to Kailahun for me! Anyway, things were great with them here.

We not only had lunch and a District Council with them, but we also had the chance to go out and visit one of the people we are teaching: Sgt. Kargbo. He seemed to be honored to meet with the Harpers, and he bore powerful testimony that he knew that the Book of Mormon and our church was the only true church on the Earth, and how he was already telling his friends to start going there. That day we taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and since we were trying to be cognizant of his and the Harpers’ time, we were moving a little quickly; this was also because Sgt. Kargbo likes to talk a lot, so controlling the discussion was a little interesting. Near the end of the lesson, I was reviewing in my mind everything that we had taught him, trying to make sure that we had hit on all the important points in the lesson. When my companion finished speaking, Elder Wagner turned the time over to President Harper; I thought for sure President was going to teach or clarify some sort of doctrine or principle that we missed or didn't teach well enough. What he did instead though was bear solemn testimony in the sincerest way possible that what we said was true and reaffirmed everything we had been teaching. I thought for sure we were going to receive guidance, correction, and instruction on how to do better. Instead, we received praise, encouragement, and a witness in the most powerful way to me that President and Sister Harper have my back, that they are here for us. That was something that was really unexpected but awesome.

Other than that, we have really been trying to Amp up our game out here. When before it seems that we have had more time than people to teach, we've managed to reach the inverse of that even though we are proselyting longer per our Zone leaders’ instructions. It’s really awesome, especially since we’re seeing significant changes in the lives of the people we are teaching. Still, there is plenty of stress and work to be done, although I'm getting better. I think that the epitome of this was when I was coming home one night from our last teaching appointment this week, and this little girl noticed I was a white guy. She yelled "Pumwei!" but I was busy dealing with other kids that were walking with us and talking with my companion, so I didn't notice her until she smashed her head into my crotch while at full sprint. I just doubled over, looked at my companion, and said the F word. It was kind of a moment of weakness.

Stuffs going well, emailing is still giving us headaches, don't ask me to explain why. I love you all and I'm thrilled to hear about Annie's wedding. Alex your bike sounds ligit and I hope you can use it with Buddy some time. We have our area President Nash coming to Bo in a few weeks so that is really cool.
I also love everything that you guys sent me, especially the "I Hiked the Wellsvilles" T-shirt.  I enjoyed making s'mores over the gas stove in our apartment, we were too busy to make a fire in the compound. Elder Nwangele and Elder Abad both thought they were pretty cool. Everything is going great, and I hope to tell you about it all later.
